Situated in a tranquil rural area Hippo Lakes prides itself on offering options for your upcoming nuptials. Our function room opens onto sweeping verandahs that overlook manicured lawns, lush gardens and tall trees. A short walk takes you to our lake with a bridge and more gardens. We are licenced to serve up to 120 people and this can be for seated or a cocktail style ( stand up) event in either the function room or gardens.
A special licence can be applied for at a cost to the organiser for more guests to be served in the garden.
Ceremony/Reception
Choose your favourite spot amongst our gardens for your ceremony, whether it be on our lawn in front of the vibrant flowers, in the gardens by the lake, under the tall trees or celebrate with the romance of saying I do under the Jasmine covered arbour.
Hippo Lakes team is dedicated to making your wedding reception one to remember. We've partnered with Supper Rd for exceptional catering and Southwest Event Studio for premium styling and setup. Our team will provide drinks service and be on hand to liase with vendors during set up and service.

Terms and Conditions
BOOKING CONFIRMATION
Your booking is not confirmed until both the booking form and a non refundable 25% deposit is received to secure your event date
with us. A further non refundable 25% deposit is required 6 months
prior to the event date with the full balance to be paid 3 weeks prior to the event date.
CONFIRMATION OF NUMBERS
Number of attendees needs to be confirmed 14 days prior to event date. This is the minimum numbers catered for.
OUTSTANDING PAYMENTS
Any add ons that may occur during the event must be paid prior to the end of the event. If not paid they will be debited from the credit card supplied on the booking form.
TIME IN OUR VENUE
By agreement with the City of Busselton functions must finish by 11pm. As such drink service will finish at 10.30pm
SMOKING AND FIRE SAFETY
Hippo Lakes is a non smoking venue. Fireworks and sparklers are not permitted.
RSA AND ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
The rules of Responsible Service of Alcohol apply to your event, and we reserve the right to refuse service should we deem necessary for the safety and well being of guests and staff. There is a standard of behaviour expected from guests. Aggressive or bullying language and behaviour will not be tolerated. The use of illegal substances is prohibited and will result in the event being shut down and police called.
SAFETY AND DAMAGE TO OUR PROPERTY
Guest need to stay within the designated event area. We request that guest do not swim in the lake or venture onto the working farm area. The organiser will be liable for any damage to Hippo Lakes property judged above usual wear and tear.
LOSS OR DAMAGE TO GUEST PROPERTY
Hippo Lakes staff and suppliers will exercise all reasonable care but are not responsible for the loss or damage to any guests property left on our premises prior, during and after the event.
Visiting the Venue
We are a working cafe and appreciate you may like to visit to catch up with our team about your function, to ensure that you can recieve full attention please make an appointment.
Music
While Hippo Lakes is in a rural area there are homes in the vicinity of the venue and as such we do not allow bands but can accomodate accoustic muscians, DJ or we can play your playlist through our sound system. Ideally music should close down 30 min prior to the close of the event.
Hanging Installations
We have interior fixings for lighting and floral hangings. Additional outside lighting can also be discussed in conjunction with a lighting specialist. Working at heights and rigging ticket are needed for these installations and qualified electrician for lighting to tag and test.
